Can't register a free domain HELP

    Can’t register a free domain
    I deleted a site “monicafucini.wordpress.com” because it was very old and could not update to a new WordPress version. Now I can’t register another with the same name. Why and how to fix it? When I search for the old one WordPress tells me that it does not exist anymore.

    The site was of a friend, I deleted it two days ago and I still can’t register a free domain with the name of the old one. The site was monicafucini.wordpress.com and WordPress let me register only with monicafuciniblog.
