can’t register my account with microsoft word

  I’m having trouble registering my account with microsoft word.
  I have tried the full URL, http, https, /xmlrpc.php, different computers, copy pasting the username/password from the manager, but no matter what I do I still get the ‘Word cannot register your account’ error.

  WP.com: Yes
  Correct account: Yes

  Hi, are you using https://grayshellcybersecurity.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php or some other site? If it’s a site that is not hosted here, you’d want to make sure it’s configured to accept the request.

  yes I am trying to register https://grayshellcybersecurity.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php but it comes up with the “word cannot register your account” error

  Hello there,

  You may wish to gut check reconnecting https://grayshellcybersecurity.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php – making sure the https in place.

  The reason why I say this is because I’ve done some research into this issue and it looks like the missing s in HTTPS seems to be the most common denominator.

  Failing that, you may need to contact Microsoft support about this, as this is something that Word offers on its end, and not something we have set up with them.

  I’m hoping this helps.

  Hi Aleone89, yes as per my original post I have tried all of the variations of http and https and have not had success with any of them, as a quick google search did show that was a common issue but sadly does not appear to be mine.

  I guess I’ll have to contact microsoft.
