Can't remove domain from wordpress.com blog, help?
-
I deleted a domain I had mapped to WordPress.com. The domain is justgettingbypodcast.com. I did not register the domain with WordPress.com, but after I deleted it from my wordpress dashboard my domain still redirects to my wordpress.com blog and I get the error message “Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain. ” I have no DNS or nameserver information for WordPress.com, so I cannot figure out why the domain is still being mapped to my wordpress blog. Any help would be appreciated.

When I visit justgettingbypodcast.wordpress.com, everything appears to be working properly for me. Can you try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies to see if that resolves the problem?

Thanks, but that isn’t what I meant. Sorry if I was unclear, but my original domain was justgettingbypodcast.com . I deleted THAT domain, but when I try and use it it keeps redirecting me back to the .wordpress.com blog, which is doubly bad since I no longer have access to other domains, no one can see my blog. Thank for your time!

You’ll need to change the domain name servers for that domain so that they’re no longer pointing to WordPress.com.
You can update your domain name servers via your domain registrar; if you have a new hosting service, they’ll be able to give you the name server information if you want to use that domain with a different site.

I have already updated my nameserver information. I have the domain pointing to bluehost.com nameservers. I seem to recall being able to edit DNS details from the wordpress.com dashboard. Is it possible that is the source of the issue?
-
In our database, your domain name is still pointing to WordPress.com. It’s true that you can edit DNS records in your WordPress.com Dashboard, but that’s not where you would update your name server information.
Could you try updating your name servers to point to Bluehost once more or check with your domain registrar? Please keep in mind that it can take some time for these changes to take effect.

Will do, its only been about 12 hours since I changed the records. I’ll wait it out for a day or two, then contact my domain registrar. Thank you for your time!
