Can’t remove footer from WordPress homepage

Hello,
there is a sentence at the bottom of my homepage. I want to remove it and add a different sentence. On the ‘Additonal CSS’ page, I can right click on the sentence, choose ‘inspect’ and alter the wording in the CSS column but there doesn’t seem to be a way to publish these changes. The ‘publish’ button is unresponsive and remains frozen on ‘published’.
