I just looked on one of my colleagues phones and computer and there is still an image coming up on the side says “teleradiology…” Its still there. But I erased the image from my media library and got rid of the widget. I don’t understand why it is still persisting. It is like a ghost. I want to replace it with a widget for preordering my new book coming out on amazon…

no nothing like it there, I have added the tag ( modlook )to your post, so a mod will be along to help, but you will have to wait for one to come on.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but these are the WordPress.com forums and staff and volunteers provide assistance for sites hosted here. Your site is hosted at BlueHost so it will be using the WordPress.org software. You need to be asking at https://wordpress.org/support/
PS: I don’t see an image in your sidebar but there is an “x” where an image was which still links to Amazon, so you haven’t deleted everything.

Hi Harry. Good question. As you regularly help out in the forums this might help you in the future. Volunteers do a “who is” search. There are various places that provide this service. https://www.whois.com/whois was the first one I saw when I Googled. Put the address of the site you are checking there and a mass of information comes up. If it says in the first box “Wild West Domains” for the Registar and WordPress for the nameservers then you know the site is hosted here at WordPress.com. Anything else means the site isn’t hosted here and will be using the WordPress.org software. You can then politely point people to the WordPress.org support forum.

And as knowledge is power this is worth reading: https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-com-volunteers/

Hi there,
I see you have a Jetpack image widget on your site. Is that a new one, or the one you’re trying to get rid of? And did you add it via the Customizer, or via Appearance ->Widgets in your WP-Admin dashboard?
Please try clearing your browser cache and cookies and try removing the widget again. It’s possible it didn’t save the last time you tried to remove it.
Failing that, you’ll need to ask for help in the self-hosted forums as our volunteers mentioned above, but I’d suggest specifically posting in the Jetpack subforum:
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack
@themagicrobot, thanks for helping out @dribblingpensioner this way. I also find the ICANN whois lookup to be very reliable: https://whois.icann.org and I often use domaintool.com’s whois as well, simply because they have a handy browser extension which allows you to do a whois lookup by just clicking an icon in your browser while on the page.
