Can't remove the menu icon at the upper right corner of the page
-
Hi! I am having a problem with the menu icon on the upper right-hand corner of the screen. I wouldn’t mind it so much except that it displays incorrectly in any computer other than the one I created the site on. I have now used a menu widget to put the site’s internal links in a column to the right of the text – that looks great and works fine – but I cannot disable or remove the other menu icon. Is it possible or maybe my chosen theme doesn’t allow this? I can’t say what theme i am using because i just chose it and forgot what it was called (if this is important, can someone say how I can find the name of the theme). I would lalso ove to show you a screen shot of the egregious icon, but it looks like I cannot attach an image here.
Any help would be appreciated.
Joe

You are using the Sketch theme https://wordpress.com/theme/sketch (found by clicking on the three dots bottom right on your site).
I’m sure the “hamburger” menu is an integral part of that particular theme. Perhaps it could be removed if you have the WordPress.com Premium plan (and consequently access to custom CSS). If so you could re-post this question in the CSS support forum. -
Thanks so much for your help! This was driving me crazy (which is at best a very short drive to begin with). I think I will try to change themes to see if I can find one that works better for me. The premium plan is a little too steep for my budget right now.
Thanks again,
Joe
