Can’t Remove Widgets
-
I am at my widgets page, and there is an “add” for ones I don’t have but not a remove. Because I changed to a theme with page navigation, I don’t need the pages widget. I don’t so much like the new design. I’d just like it to work, I don’t care how it looks. So what do I do to remove my widgets?

You recently changed the dashboard. One of the results is that when I go to the widgets page and attempt to edit my widgets, the righthand column is too narrow, so the far lefthand buttons (including remove) don’t show. Therefore, I can’t remove any of my widgets! Any suggestions? Is the fix needed on your end or mine?

That is a problem that shows up with IE6 and 7. My suggestion is to download and use Firefox till staff gets the IE6 and 7 hacks done to fix the issue. After they get it fixed, you can, if you wish, uninstall Firefox and go back to IE.

Thanks, sacredpath. I guess this must be a result of the recent “upgrades” as I didn’t have any trouble last time I changed a widget. Funny how “progress” sometimes takes a roundabout path, isn’t it?

It would be much simpler if Microsoft paid any attention at all to web standards. Coders have to include all sorts of IE specific code (hacks) just to get IE to display some stuff correctly. With other browsers, that isn’t the case.

Hi, I have a widget on my page, but it doesn’t show up in the widget editing page, so I can’t edit it or remove it, but there it is on my blog! Any way I can put my hands on the widget? Thanks.

Under design > widgets, click on the “save changes” button below the sidebar widgets area. Most time that will refresh the list.

After changing themes : add any widget. Then click on “Save changes”. Your widgets will re-appear. The one that you added will not even appear. As said abive, this refreshes the list.

I changed my layout and tried to remove Box.net file sharing widget, it was removed from widget list but on refreshing my page again, the box isn’t there but there now is a another white box in its place saying ‘Sorry this folder is no longer accessible’.
Tried going to box.net to unsubscribe but no luck. Help??? Thanks!

Hi, I had the same problem and just figured out how to remove the widgets!!!!! :D
Click the Edit button
then click beside the word “Title” so that your cursor is in that Title field
then press Tab on your keyboard
keep pressing the Tab key until you get to the remove button
