Can’t remove widgets
-
Okay, I’m trying to set up a biz. blog for my FIL.. I can not for the life of me get that stupid widget to go away.. It shows no widgets in the widget section but there are 4 on the blog. I can trick it into getting rid of those 4 widgets by dragging one widget over there. That makes the 4 “ghost widgets” disappear but I still have one there I don’t want. If I remove that widget the 4 “ghost widgets” reappear.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m not seeing where to do that? Everything I’ve goggled seems to be for hiding the sidebar in hosted wordpress.

Each theme is different. In one theme it might be called #sidebar, in another #narrowcolumn, in another #secondary, in another #dog_hair. Each theme is different, written by different authors, and each author decides what they are going to call things.
You’ve copied and pasted the entire stylesheet into the CSS edit window and that is not a good thing to do. Paste only the specific sections, and the specific declarations you are making or changing into the edit window and then make sure that “add to existing…” is selected. This will prevent all sorts of possible problems (such as your header image disappearing – as it has).
To hide the sidebar in the particular theme you are using, add this to the CSS edit window:
#sidebar { display:none; } -
