    Hi there,
    I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please read this while waiting http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/ Also subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

    Thanks. Of course i read the docs. Unfortunately, I can’t be patient as, according to those very docs, the domain will go into redemption period tomorrow, where it will be put up for sale at auction. And best case scenario would still have it cost me triple the renewal price. So there is quite a bit of urgency and no way to directly contact support.

    Is there anything I can do to escalate this or bring it to someones attention? Its an exceedingly simple problem for them to solve and does’t require technical resources.

    There is nothing you can do beyond what TT did, and by posting again to the thread, I’m afraid you pushed it down the queue for staff help. Just wait.

    There is a backlog even for simple fixes.

    Asking for increased urgency “pushes it down the queue.” That’s a fantastic system. Also not likely true.

    While moderated community forums are nice to have, this situation is exactly why it fails in lieu of real paid support staff, or in fact any kind of customer service at all. It’s great they roped you into it, but as someone who is using paid services this is not an acceptable solution.

    I’ve already moved the DNS and hosting away from wordpress and will begin the registry transfer as soon as possible. No paying customer should be left with such a lack of recourse and now, none of my clients will. I never thought I’d miss hosting at sites like netsol and godaddy, but here we are…!

    @hwanderman-

    Hi there. After looking into your account, I found that your domain: recroomies.com was renewed on January 30th.

    Thank you @timethief and @raincoaster for your help! Greatly appreciated. :)

    Yes, I was finally able to track down the employee of the company who originally registered it. It was only their account that was able to renew (even though mine was also an admin). While I appreciate you responding, it came two days after the initial post which would have been too late and my registration would be in redemption now.

    Thanks everyone for your responses but its even more clear now that my clients, who pay for hosting services, need to have direct access to support.

    Remember it’s the account that owns an upgrade is the only one that can renew an upgrade, that means that having things registered in personal email accounts can be a problem. Much better to set up a master account for a blog that the owns the upgrades for a blog so when an employee leaves the upgrades do not go with them

    Thanks auxclass. I’m aware of that now. I came into this situation long after it was setup/registered. As my job is pretty heavy on the cleaning-up-other-people’s-messes end of things.

    Its a moot point anyway now. Hate to beat a dead horse but I can’t let anyone that I support use paid services without direct support options. I would think that’s a no-brainer. Its acceptable for free services like wordpress.org, but not for services that are billed for.

    I’m sorry the wait took so long. Please note that if you are logged into the account that owns the upgrades you will be able to contact us through our private support email.

    Cheers!

    Thanks gracejiyoung. I have a new problem now. Ive changed the username and pass of the account that owns the upgrade. when i logged back in to that account, the domain options have disappeared. Can you help restore them?
