Can't rotate pictures, or delete large group after wordpress update

I can’t rotate pictures using the edit image button. I get a red box with text that says preview could not be loaded, reload the page and try again.
Then when I go to delete a large group of pictures by selecting them, I get a 403 permissions error, however I can delete them one by one. I updated my theme to the newest version they have, and even tested everything out using my virtual machine.
Can anyone help?
