Can't see any incoming links
-
Hi,
I’ve created a blog post which I’ve linked back to from another blog and which I know for a fact other people have linked back to.
However, in the Incoming Links panel on my dashboard it tells me the site has zero incoming links.
How can this be? It’s a standard wordpress.com site and it is set up to be searchable by search engines.
Also, searching for that post using Google Webmaster isn’t working.
Thanks,
Jon

This is an outstanding issue that Staff are aware of. See here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/incoming-links

You can use Technorati > http://technorati.com/
You can use seomoz open site explorer > http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/
You can use Yahoo site explorer > http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ -
Thanks,
Do you know if this will also be the reason I can’t see any incoming links in Google Webmaster under ‘Your site on the web’?

No I’m sorry but I don’t. All search engine questions must be directed to their help pages. http://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/
Your blog is indexed by Google (121 results).
Your blog is indexed by Bing (7 results).
It’s a new blog so getting backlinks (not blogroll links) will take time and energy that’s best invested into building relationships with other bloggers in the same niche by commenting on their blogs. -
You can see what Staff had to say here about incoming links > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/dashboard-7?replies=21#post-639742
