can’t see blog on local network

  What configuration file/lines do I need to edit so that when I type in http://www.abcd.org/blog on my organization’s local network, the www. doesn’t disappear. Our local network domain name is the same as our URL. When I try to navigate to http://www.abcd.org/blog while on the network the www. disappears and I get a 404 – File or directory not found message. This can’t be “worked around” on our local network because of security issues.

  I can see and edit the blog perfectly when not on the local network.
