Can't see or approve comments

I can’t approve comments. I can’t even see them. What do I need to do? Thanks.

Comments posted on your blog should show up in the “Comments” section of your WordPress dashboard. There are 4 different categories for comments on your blog, these are Pending, Approved, Spam & Trash.
Comments that are waiting for your approval should show up in the Pending section where you can see them and do one of several actions on the comments.
Please keep in mind that replying to a comment will automatically make the comment publicly visible.
If you have Askimet activated on your site it will <b>automatically work in the background</b> to filter out comments that it identifies as spam. If Askimet has identified any comments as spam they will more than likely end up in the Spam section, you can still rescue these comments out of the Spam section if you believe that they are not spam comments.If this does not resolve your issue please reply to this thread again with some more details on what is visible to you in the “Comments” section of your WordPress dashboard.

Thank you for your reply, Starker. That is the problem — comments waiting for approval do not show up on dashboard. I receive an email notice that a comment is waiting for approval. I go to dashboard, click the “bell” icon on the upper right, and a window appears with 5 categories: All, Unread, Comments, Follows and Likes, but nothing else will appear in that window. I select Comments, or any other category, and a small, circular shape turns, like it is trying to download, but never gets any further than that. The window stays empty. I would send a screen shot, but it doesn’t seem possible here.

If you see nothing there, then I would recommend trying to clear your browser’s cache, or trying to connect to a different internet connection if you can’t see this because it means that something is not loading correctly or completely.If you need advice on how to clear your browser’s cache you can do so at this website

Using another’s laptop, I downloaded Firefox and was able to see bell notifications.
Does this mean that Chrome will not work for the wordpress blog? I really prefer Chrome to Firefox. Thank you. -
Chrome should not be having any issues seeing the notifications and the comments, I would recommend clearing your browser cache using the guides from the link above, as well as disabling extensions that might interfere with web pages.
Alternatively, you can do a clean install of chrome to see if that solves your problem.
