can’t see privacy or domain settings options

need to delete site or make site private – but I can not see the domain or privacy options under settings. only ‘sharing’ and ‘polls’.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Try using this link to open your settings:
https://wordpress.com/settings/general/
Scroll down past the first box (Site Profile). The second box down should be the Privacy settings box.

Are you the owner/admin of the site? If not that may explain why you couldn’t see the privacy settings in your dashboard: https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/

@themagicrobot – That’s a great point I hadn’t thought of and would explain why the site is still active.
@samplekimnet – Like @themagicrobot pointed out, only the owner of the site has the ability to change privacy options or delete a site. If you were not the owner then deleting your account won’t have any effect on the site.There is a modlook tag in the sidebar, so hopefully a staff member can clarify whether or not @samplekimnet was the site owner with the ability to delete the site.

I should clarify on my previous message:
Closing your account will delete your sites linked to that account. :)
When I mean “linked”, I mean sites owned by that account. :)

I am trying to close/delete islandcountydemocrats.wordpress.com – and since I closed the one account i had (islandcountydems) that was associated with that account, I can’t get back in to try anything else, but you can contact me on samplekimnet – thanks!

That site is owned by the WordPress.com user islandcountydemocratswebmaster and the user account you deleted was an Editor in it. That’s why when you deleted your account that site wasn’t deleted.
If you have access to the islandcountydemocratswebmaster account, then log in to that account and delete the site. If this account belongs to another user, then you can contact them and ask them to delete it.

thanks fstat – we are trying to find that userid’s pswd and associated email. at least you have confirmed that this id is the owner and should be able to delete the site. I would like to leave this problem open until we are able to reset or find the owner userid pswd and email. shouldn’t be too long. thanks again.

problem resolved – i was able to recover the pswd from the owning account on this site and set it to private… THANKS ALL!
