The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m using Firefox 46 and I can see them for example here at the end of the post https://truegunnerhorsetips.wordpress.com/2016/05/26/friday-270516-tips/
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/safari-ipad-clear-cache.htm
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/How-To-Clear-Browsing-Data-In-Chrome-For-Ipad_6.htm
(b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654
(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily. Know also that security and firewall programs and programs that run incognito mode may need to be temporarily disabled as well.
(d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions4. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.
5. Try using another browser.
6. If you are not successful please provide this specific info:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/
(c) Exactly what you experience including exactly what any error reports you receive state.
(d) Screenshots can be helpful. You can use http://snag.gy/ or http://cloudup.com to share screenshots and link to them here. If you use the WordPress.com guide for screenshots http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/ you can and upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it.Then type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. Hi I can now see the share icons when I click your link but when I access the blog myself they do not appear at all. This seems really bizarre.

Ah I see what it has happened I was expecting to see the share icons as soon as I access the blog’s homepage. However I actually have to click the title of the post and once inside, the share icons appear. This seems a bit unpractical as if somebody is not used to using WordPress and want to share a post, they may not even realise you can expand the post further by clicking on the title. Thanks for your help and sorry for being daft.
As for my Twitter card query, how I can workaround this so that I do not get one that is blank?

Unless you use the P2 theme https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/p2-breathe/ which is a Twitter-like theme, the front pages of our blogs showcase content and comments are collapsed on that page. The way the comments function is coded into the core of WordPress. By clicking the post title or the comments link the posts on the front page open on their own page where all comments display. You cannot change this.
In a new blog, one does not have many posts or comments. In an established blog if the comments did not collapse on the front page it would become a mile long in no time flat and page loading time is a page ranking factor. We have only seconds before visitors refuse to wait and click out.

I located this thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-can-i-use-large-image-twitter-cards-for-wordpresscom-blog-post?replies=11 See what alexjgustafson, Staff says there please.

Also, note this support doc https://en.support.wordpress.com/twitter/ for Twitter integration with wordpress.com hosted sites.

Hi. I have taken a look at the links but i’m afraid it goes completely above my head. I just want a blog with minimal fuss.
Now I have looked at my shared posts to Twitter. On the right side it does list the title on the mobile application. On the PC I can see the actual starting contents of the post as well.
Now the left hand side where an image should be is completely blank. I did a test and added a featured image onto a test post and shared to Twitter. Turns out a picture went along with it, albeit not how I was hoping it would be incorporated and it was way too big as it was my header image that I used.
Now I don’t want to use a featured image for every post but this is the only way I can get an image to appear with a shared post so there is no blank box. Is there some way I can make WordPress take a scaled down version of my header image and use that as the picture for a shared post?

NOTE: We have no control over the images that Twitter, Facebook or any other social networks chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.
