Can't Seem to Add New Widgets

  Hey all I am back. I am sure this is again a simple fix but I can’t figure it out on my own so I am turning once more to the more experienced out there. I wanted to add my Goodreads widget and a Follow this Blog by email widget to my page. Both of which have been kindly offered by WordPress. I have followed to instructions to add the widgets but they don’t seem to show up on my page. I’ve had multiple outside sources tell me this so I know I’m not 100% crazy. What am I doing wrong? Or what have I not done to make them show up? The last time was simply that I had to exit the preview mode in order to save my background. I switched themes once more and still can’t see these very important (to me) widgets. So once more I beg of all you awesome WordPresser’s out there HELP!!! Thanks guys for the time.

  Hi there!

  I just switched my test site to the Franklin theme (same one you’re using) and added all the same widgets you have, Recent Posts, Recent Comments, Archives and Categories. Then I added the Goodreads and Follow this Blog widget and they are both appearing. (https://jameswelbes.wordpress.com/)

  Which widget area did you drag and drop the widgets into? Primary Sidebar, Footer Left, Footer Right or Footer Center?

  I wanted to put them into the Primary Sidebar. What am I doing incorrectly?

  Are you enabling them at > Appearance > Widgets?

  Are you using the customizer to position them?
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/

  Have you confirmed that the widget visibility settings are correct?

  I have enabled them in Appearance, positioned them in customizer, and made them visible on all pages. I see them in my appearance page and they are now showing up under inactive widgets.
