Can't seem to export my posts from WP.com to WP.org
-
I currently have a blog called The Brighter Side of Life with WP.com, and decided to start a blog called The Brighter Side of Parenting with WP.org. I went with Bluehost for the latter.
I want to keep all the pages, posts, etc. intact on WP.com, but wish to export (copy) my parenting-related posts (and their related comments) onto my WP.org site. For some reason when I use the Tools Export option on WP.com, only a small-sized file is created (max of 842KB even when I choose to export everything), and then when I import the file onto WP.org, no posts are uploaded.
Not sure what I’m doing wrong!! Ideas?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have a similar problem in that when I import the post content, the images are brought over to the new wp.org blog. However, the image URLs in my posts still point to my wp.com account.
How can I get my wp.org instance to use the media on wp.org?

Strange! And as a follow-on to my topic, I’ve noticed that I was able to export/import my categories and tags, but not the posts and comments. Hoping someone can help!

christineonthebrighterside, the file size is correct, and definitely includes all of your posts. We can only guarantee the export file on this end. For trouble importing to WordPress.org, please visit http://wordpress.org/support/
mamasgoose, similar to above, please visit http://wordpress.org/support/ for help with the import.
