Can't set up my email…
-
I bought my domain name from Namecheap.com. They offer free email forwarding, but only if the default nameservs are used.
Well currently, the domain is pointing to the website I bought with WordPress (bdward.us). Both Namecheap’s domain settings AND WordPress’s domain settings tell me to get in contact with the other.
I have no idea what’s going on, or if I can even have email forwarding with this kind of configuration. This is what I get when I try to set up email on WordPress:
This domain currently has custom mail servers defined in its DNS settings. This means that WordPress.com Email Forwarding is not available for this domain, and that you should manage your email with your email provider.
The email servers for this domain are:
eforward1.registrar-servers.com.
eforward2.registrar-servers.com.
eforward3.registrar-servers.com.
eforward4.registrar-servers.com.
eforward5.registrar-servers.com.On Namecheap, this is what it says.
“The URL forwarding and Email forwarding as well as All Host Records and some other options are available only if you use our default nameservers.
If you have changed the DNS settings of your domain to use a third-party name server OR our hosting servers, your host records (including A/CNAME/MX/TXT records) get moved to the third-party name server (or our hosting nameserver accordingly). Hence you need to contact your current DNS provider to enable these features or alter the settings back to Namecheap’s default name servers.”
I’m totally lost, can anyone help me?

It seems like namecheap doesn’t allow you to change the DNS if you want to use their email service.
I suggest you get a hosting plan to do your email, or even subscribe to a email marketing service, whichever easier. -
Since the name servers point to WordPress.COM you can’t use the Name Cheap email forwarding – use the link Raincoaster gave above

Thanks for the tips guys, I’m going to check out that page tonight (though I think I already tried to use that page the other day. We’ll see!)

Ah, yeah that’s the exact problem.
When I go to My Domains, and click edit, the email screen flashes for about a second, then changes to this:
“This domain currently has custom mail servers defined in its DNS settings. This means that WordPress.com Email Forwarding is not available for this domain, and that you should manage your email with your email provider.
The email servers for this domain are:
eforward1.registrar-servers.com.
eforward2.registrar-servers.com.
eforward3.registrar-servers.com.
eforward4.registrar-servers.com.
eforward5.registrar-servers.com.
“Is there nothing I can do?
