Can’t Set Up New Blog With My Own Email Address

  I am trying to set up a new blog, and I am getting messages about the email address I put in (which I have owned for decades) is already in use.

  Thinking I might have possibly set up another blog using it at some point that I’ve forgotten about, I created a brand new Yahoo address – and I get the same error message when trying to set up the new blog!

  How is this possible in either case, and how do I fix it?

  Sometimes people just trying out the platform put in random email addresses. If your name is John Smith, then it’s likely someone put in (email visible only to moderators and staff) long ago.

  Since both the brand new account and the old one give this message, you may have to contact staff directly if you want a new account.

  Obviously, THIS account works just fine if you want to use it.
