Can't set widget visibility in Expound them

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m wanting to add some of the basic widgets (meta, about me, follow blog, etc.) to my website, but I want certain widgets on certain pages. I want the “follow blog” and “blogs I follow widgets” on my post page, not my static pages. When I click on visibility, I don’t get an option to set the parameters for where I want my widgets. Is this is an issue with Expound, meaning every widget is on every page? Also, the two blog widgets weren’t showing up on my post (blog) page, which is where I would logically want them to be. I didn’t have this issue with other themes, so I know it’s not a Chrome (browser) issue.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I tested the “blogs I follow” and “follow blog” widget (though not with the Expound theme) and found that the Visibility option “Show if Page is Posts page” existed in each case.

Do you have the widgets activated now? I found no widgets on either your Posts page, or on static pages.

Musicdoc1, I took the widgets off my site when I couldn’t get them on the appropriate pages, because I don’t want all the clutter on my landing page. I had no problem with them with Twenty Eleven, Bouquet, or Mystique themes, but in Expound, I when I had them on my site and clicked on visibility, it didn’t do anything….No options.

    Okay, understood.
I just ran a test with the Expound theme activated and found the same options available with the Visibility tool of each widget.

I’ll tag the thread for Staff attention.

Thanks, Musicdoc1. I’ve not posted in the forums much, so not sure how to tag for Staff attention. I tried it again after you said it worked for you, and nothing. The widgets were added to my pages, but I still didn’t get any options in the visibility section to set which pages for which widgets, so I deactivated them again. I appreciate your help.

Okay, I figured it out. I was going under my dashboard and selecting widgets from there, and that’s when I couldn’t change visibility. If I go under dashboard and select the customize option, it pops open the right “customize” sidebar, and I can work with the widgets there…and the visibility option works on that. I appreciate your help.

Excellent! Glad to help. But JFYI I was able to change the settings without difficulty directly on the widgets at the widgets page. Uncertain why you weren’t able to.
