Cant transfer domain over to WordPress.org

    To whom it may concern,

    After working in wordpress.com for a couple days, I realized that it was not interactive enough for my website needs. I have been in the process of switching the website over to WordPress.org, but it will not let me transfer my domain for 60 days. Does anybody have any feedback? What can I do?

    I already canceled my WordPress.com plan, so I can no longer talk to a live representative. & I also purchased site ground for my new web host, but I cant switch the domain over.

    That is the ICANN rule and there is no workaround.

    We need details please.
    1. What is the domain URL? Do you want to use the domain URL on another site?
    2. What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
    3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
    4. When was the upgrade purchased?
    5. When did the refund request and upgrade cancellation take place?

    Hello –

    There is not a work around for waiting out the 60 days. This is not our policy, rather it comes from ICANN as mentioned by timethief.

    You can edit the name servers on the domain in the mean time. This will tell the internet which version of your site to show.
