Can’t transfer Squarespace to WordPress

(The site I’m trying to transfer from Squarespace is private (can’t afford to sign up for it to be public when I’d only use it for one second), I’m not sure if that’s the problem, but I decided to mention that.) I followed the numerous YouTube videos and articles and I have the xml file, when I try to import it, it says it’s imported, but when I check the website, it’s just the basic starter template for WordPress? Nothing has changed at all, it’s just the starter template. I’m not quite sure what to do and support isn’t too helpful. Please help !

Hi there!
When migrating a Squarespace website to WordPress.com, you can only migrate the contents of the website. The styling cannot be migrated due to the differences between the two platforms. We also wrote a guide on how to do so here:
Please note that one condition for the migration to fully work and have the images also imported, is to have the Squarespace website public. If you can’t make it, you could move them manually instead.
