Can’t turn off comments on a new page

  We want all pages but the home page to not accept comments on our website. I’ve been able to do this all along. Now suddenly when I try to create a new page the option to turn off comments is not there. Also, when I look at old pages the option to turn comments back on is not there.

  When editing a page, check the Screen Options tab near the top-right, and make sure that “Discussion” is checked.
