Hello there,
I signed up with WordPress.com within the last 2 weeks. I just found out that I actually needed wordpress.org. I can’t get my domain released because it’s been within the last 60 days. I need help getting it unlocked and transferred to HostGator.
You can use your domain name with another hosting provider by changing the name servers. Your host will send you the name servers to set up in your WordPress.com domain name. You can find more information here – https://wordpress.com/support/domains/change-name-servers/
All newly registered domain names undergo a 60-day lock-in period. This means they cannot be transferred to another provider within 60 days of registration and cannot be canceled to register with another provider right away. You can find more information from ICANN here: https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/name-holder-faqs-2017-10-10-en
May I know what you need from WordPress.org (self-hosted) that you didn’t find in WordPress.com?
