Can't unstick featured blog post

    I use Dyad2 for my blog. Since using the classic block for creating the blog post, now I can’t seem to unstick a featured blog post from my dynamic slideshow in the banner-header. I already unchecked the sticky box. :( I’m sure I’m missing something.

    Hi,

    On Dyad 2, to display a post in the featured content slider requires that the featured content tag be assigned to the post. To remove a post from the slider simply requires the reverse, that the featured tag be removed from the post.

    I suspect that whether a post is marked sticky or not has no affect upon whether it appears in the featured content slider on Dyad 2.

    I removed the “featured” content tag already –that’s what I’ve always done. I find your last comment interesting. what do you mean by that?

    The factors that determine whether a post appears in the featured content slider on Dyad 2 can be found in the itemized list in the Featured Content Slider section of the Dyad 2 theme overview. Marking a post sticky puts it at the top of the posts stream, and has nothing to do with Featured Content. See the Sticky Posts section of the Post & Page Visibility support page for more information on this feature.

    So I meant that on Dyad 2 there was no reason to suppose, given the determining factors outlined in the overview, and in relevant support pages, that the stickiness of a post has an relation to whether it appears in the Featured Content Slider. However, I hadn’t yet tested to make sure. My tests now indicate that there’s no connection. A post may appear in the featured content slider whether or not it is marked sticky. And a post may be marked sticky whether or not it has the featured content tag that causes it to appear in the featured content slider.

    I removed the “featured” content tag already –that’s what I’ve always done.

    Your “Featured” tag archive page has the same six posts that are displayed in the Featured Content slider, in the same order. This indicates that each of those posts still has the “featured” tag assigned.
