Can’t Update a Post with New Information on a WordPress.com Site

    I have a Blog Site (https://mabuhayusveterans.wordpress.com/ ) that I occasionally add new information to with one of my 19-Posts. One of my posts titled ‘Construction’ is a post that pertains to ‘Constructing a Home & Perimeter Wall from Start to Finish – a Veteran’s Perspective’ . While working on it last night, I tried multiple times to save what I typed and get this notice: ‘Updating failed. An unknown error occurred.’ Does anyone know why this is occurring and how to get it fixed? The page that I am on is: ‘https://mabuhayusveterans.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=590&action=edit’. The night before, I was required to clear my browsing history (which I did) and re-signed into my account. I was able to work on my Blog Site yesterday with no problems and yet when I tried to update this particular post, it doesn’t occur. I never had a problem before with saving updated information, so I am greatly puzzled to see why I can’t save what I have added to this post. Thanking you ahead of time.

    Hi there – That error could be a sign that something has changed about your computer’s connection to the Internet, or something related to the performance of your web browser has failed.

    In either case, try the following:

    1. Make sure you are editing the post through only one tab or window.

    2. Now, open a new tab or window and edit the post there.

    Are all of the latest edits intact and saved? If so, continue editing in the new tab/window and close the old tab/window.

    If the latest edits are not intact and saved, move the latest edits over into the new tab/window and then try to save. If the save works, which it should, continue with the new tab/window and close the old tab/window.

    Let us know if this doesn’t help fix your issue. :)

    Thanks for your response.

    I kind of figured it might be the internet and wanted to get a second opinion.

    Your response was right on, as when I opened up an identical post, I noticed that updates that I had posted had taken. So, I just “Xd” out the old post. I then made some additional changes and was able to “Update” everything as it should be.

    Here in the Philippines (where I and my Philippine-American Spouse retired to years ago), our internet was perfect. However, once the Pandemic hit in March 2020, the internet has been poor to non-existent for hours to days on end. I notice that the internet seems to be working slightly better late at night when I am asleep (the time that I sent out my request for someone (thank goodness it was you) to possibly provide an answer to my dilemma).

    So, thanks again for everything!
