Can’t Update Payment Information

    I have been sent an e-mail notifying me that my credit card is about to expire. The link in the e-mail goes to a ‘404 Not Found’ page (actually it says ‘Oops!’)

    Wordpress doesn’t allow me to update the credit card information for my Akismet plugin. (https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/payment-methods) That may be caused by the fact that the site is hosted on SiteGround, and not WordPress. I can’t find a way to pay Akismet on the WP-Admin dashboard for my website.

    Where can I go to input the right charge card information?

    Hello!

    I apologize for the confusion caused by that link. As you may be aware, Akismet utilizes WordPress.com accounts for login and account management on the Akismet website. Recently, the Akismet team made an upgrade to their billing and payment systems, integrating them with WordPress.com for plan and billing management.

    However, it seems that there is a bug in the process of updating the payment method for Akismet accounts that were migrated over. I have personally been able to replicate the issue. :(

    Fortunately, since your plan is not set to renew until the end of July, there is sufficient time for Akismet Support to resolve this matter for you. I have already informed their team about the situation, and someone will be emailing you to help resolve the issue.

    For the sake of those who read this thread, I received a note telling me that the bug had been fixed, and I was able to successfully update my payment information.

    Hi @alexshawn82, in order to address your concern, please reach out to Akismet support by visiting their contact page at https://akismet.com/contact/. Once there, select the “I have a billing question” option.

    For anyone else reading this thread, please be aware that contacting Akismet directly is the best course of action, as they will be able to assist you further with your specific issue.
