Can’t update some preset text in Masu theme
-
I just launched a site for my podcast using the Masu theme. I like it because it is simple (that’s all I needed) and, even more, because the feature image field uses a square picture that accommodates the dimensions I am already posting to instagram. I was able to get everything updated EXCEPT some text, on both the right and left side, just above the footer area. It says ‘about the blog’ on the left, and ‘subscribe’ on the right. I would be fine keeping the fields as long as I can customize the text/links. Every type of tutorial and help site I have consulted thus far has not helped. I can’t access these particular fields from the homepage edit screen, nor are they part of a footer so I am stumped. Any help is appreciated. the site is: thepresencedrivenlifepodcast.com
Thank you!

Hi there!
So that section comes from the “Pattern placeholder,” which you can remove by opening the Site Editor and following these:
- Click Templates → Index → Footer.
- Click the Edit icon (Pencil) to enter the editing screen.
- Click the List view near the top.
- Click the three dots next to the “Pattern placeholder” and click Delete
- Click Save
Here’s a screenshot showing you where to click to remove the Pattern placeholder.

Once it’s removed, you can manually insert anything (including a similar pattern if you’d like to insert and then edit its text) in the Footer template area.

Thank you!! For some reason I just now saw this reply … I got busy and sort of gave up on the site, to be honest. But had some time to fiddle with it again today and came back on here. I tried what you suggested and it worked perfectly.! Thank you SO much. I would have never figured that out on my own …
