Can't update twitter username in sharing settings

  Hi I’ve tried to update my twitter username via Settings > Sharing > Twitter username to include in tweets when people share using the Twitter button

  I’ve typed in the new username and hit save, and it looks like it’s worked – but when I try sharing a post on my site with the twitter button it still puts my old username in the tweet.

  My wordpress.com URL is vcsassist.org.uk.

  My old Twitter username is @LESPN.

  My new username is @SteveLVSC

  Hi there!

  Can you try removing the twitter name and saving a blank box and then adding it back in?

  Thanks – I just tried saving a blank box and it still adds old (@LESPN) handle when sharing via tweet.

  Needless to say when I added the new handle and saved changes it didn’t work.

  I’ve run a script on our end to update the meta information on your older posts. You should see the correct twitter username now!
