can't update widgets

    I haven’t logged in over a year. When I tried to edit widgets today, I can see the pencil icon. Earlier it told me to “click here to edit widget” but nothing happened. I have since cleared my cache and now don’t even get that message when I click on the pencil icon. I have tried Chrome and Firefox. I wonder if this is because I am not yet using the block editor. My current theme is Twenty Twelve.

    I am not very tech savvy so detailed help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance

    Thanks for the reply. I figured out that I needed to edit with blocks.
