Can't upload mp3 anymore

    Dear support,
I am working on a WordPress.com site which for the last year, I have been able to upload mp3 files to the WordPress site in the form of podcasts. Up until a week ago, i was able to upload these mp3 files, but suddenly am unable to. After reading other articles. It appears that you need to buy the upgrade space package. But i dont have any upgrade package. My friend and i are currently using the site to host his podcasts which are then submitted to itunes. I’m curious to know why we have been able to upload mp3s until a week ago, or whether we had some other space upgrade package that has expired. I’ve taken over the account, but it was originally created by another person for us.

I keep reading that we need a space upgrade, premium or business account, but we have none. So why do I have all these mp3s in our media library? Is it possible that there was a previous vulnerability that allowed the previous creator to upload mp3s?

    Any information would be great

WordPress.com provides free blogs and hosts them free of charge. There are no bandwidth charges. All WordPress.com blogs come with 3000 megabytes (~3 GBs) of space for storing uploaded media files and images. Free features are listed here https://en.wordpress.com/features/ It appears you may have exhausted your free media space allocation and may have to purchase the upgrade to continue to post MP3s. You can check that here http://fourevrwine.com/wp-admin/upload.php

Thanks for the reply. I thought so as well, but we are only 41% capacity. As well, you cannot upload mp3s using just the 3gb free plan, or so it says everywhere on the net. It isn’t even shown as an acceptable file type on the media ADD screen.

There must have been a security change to the site, or some process change, or the 41% capacity reading is bogus and incorrect.

Anyone else uploaded mp3s without a plan?

    Thanks

Thanks. Just curious about the reason why. We are looking to switch to WordPress.org but the reason behind all this has to be a good one :) so I’m curious to figure it out.

    Cheers

Hi there! The user associated with the address you specified had a space upgrade for this site that failed to renew about two weeks ago. The subscription was then removed from your site, since it expired.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Hi again, one last thing. Under the account, if I goto STORE and then MY UPGRADES I can see our domain upgrade. If I click BILLING HISTORY I dont see any transaction history. Where can I see our previous upgrades?

    Thanks

Your domain was also purchased by that other account. In order to see the transaction history, you’ll need to be logged into that account.

My thoughts exactly. Thanks. I will get the credentials and manage it from there. Cheers!
