can't upload new pictures- htttp error

Since two days ago I can’t seem to upload any new pictures to my blog. I am using Firefox and it just instantly bugs and says “http error”. I’ve tried with Chrome, too, and was able to upload 4 pictures, but now, I’m only getting the “http error” there, too. I could perfectly upload pictures in the past! Anyone- help please!:D I’m really not a computer pro!:D

I am having a similar issue. I am trying to upload a photo in order to use it for my header image. I am using chrome on a pc running Windows 7 Ultimate. I have never had this problem with my past header images.

I want to add that this error only pops up with 5 specific pictures that I edited using adobe lightroom, photoshop, and illustrator. It is a .jpg file and is only 57.1KB, well under the 128MB limit.

gringuita1415, Try uploading your photos after compressing them. Probably the files are not being uploaded because they are too big. You could use tools like Irfanview to compress your photos. In case that too doesn’t work, and you badly want your photos to come up in your blog, why don’t you upload photos to a third party website (like, say, imgur) and embed the image in your blog post? (You can easily do this by first uploading your photo to the third party website – say imgur, and pasting the link in the field you get when you click ‘Insert from URL’ in the ‘Add Media’ option).

soitgoeson, I think it’s an issue with the file extensions of your JPEG images. I mean, there actually is a difference between ‘.jpg’ and ‘.JPG’! :D Try renaming your photos to the other format and then upload. If that too doesn’t work, why don’t you save them to a different format (say, PNG or so)?
Or, you could use the same solution I’d recommended to gringuita, if the upload error is still frustrating you. Upload the image to imgur and link it to your blog.

Haha, I literally came back to my pc with the pictures converted to .png. its uploading slowly… Actually it is frozen at like an eighth of the way…
oh. wait… quarter ways there now -

Wow! Your photos are enormous huh? :D Anyway I’m pretty sure it’s the extension issue, especially cause the uploader is accepting the PNG files. So, have the pics been uploaded yet?

I will try that, thanks…Only wondering why I never had this problem in the past, not having changed the size of the pictures I want to upload!
