can’t upload photos from my iphoto

When I go to upload, I can’t get into my iphoto. I used to be able to upload, go in, and search within iphoto. Now I have to take pics and make a file on my desktop and upload from there every time. annoying. any ideas?

It’s iPhoto. Somewhere along the line it changed and it’s doing something to the files that wordpress does not like (making wordpress think it isn’t a true jpg). Photoshop doesn’t like iPhoto images too well either by the way. I’ve quit using iPhoto to import my images from my camera just because of that.
You will have to export them as a jpg to the desktop and then upload that image to wordpress.

Really? I’ve never had much of a problem, although I guess I usually export things simply to resize them and get a better file name. Same for Flickr.
You definitely won’t be able to use the built in iPhoto upload feature, since it’s meant to be only for .mac

Yes, it seems to be a problem. If you go to your pictures folder and to the “originals” or the “modified” and then try to upload one of them, wordpress will come back and tell you it isn’t a supported format or something like that. It’s weird. -
I open and edit my pictures in Photoshop by opening them directly from iPhoto. I occasionally upload pictures directly from the modified folder though for the most part I host my pictures through Flickr. I haven’t run into this problem yet either.

Yeah, I’m not sure what the problem is. I used iPhoto for a while, but then all of a sudden wordpress did not like them anymore. As long as I export them there isn’t a problem. When I started having problems getting them into Photoshop I quit using it. I’m not sure if iPhoto adds (or was adding) something to the file for it’s purposes or what the deal is. It may be version related. I haven’t tried it in a while and there have been at least a couple iPhoto upgrades.
I use Image Capture to download my photos and then do what I need in DXO Optics or Photoshop because I have more control that way.
