can’t upload picture cause tab dosn’t exist

The most strange thing is happening to me. I am very well familiar with wordpress and how to upload pictures! All of a sudden the option to upload pictures when I am writing a post dosn’t even exist. I have tried in both explorer and firefox on two different computers but it dosn’t appear. Is this some temporary problem on wordpress or what can be the problem?

I see it within Netscape 7.2. You’re not running any sort of adblocker, are you? The uploader is an iframe and folks have run into issues with that in the past.

Ok, now I solved it. I recently changed virusprogram, this turned out to be the problem. When I tured of the adblocker, it is working as is supposed to again!

I posted some pictures last evening, but there was something in the text I wanted to edit. My editings couldn’t be saved though, unless I removed the pictures first. Now I can’t get the pictures back in! I see the upload, etc tabs, but clicking on them doesn’t do anything!

Ok, did either of you try temporarily turning off your AV or ad-blockers?

Have you tried clearing cookies and history within your browser?

Try those if you haven’t already and let us know what happens.

On this PC I can’t turn off AV (I’m at work). It was the same at home though.
I use Opera and IE for browsing, and cookies and history are cleaned, but it has no effect. When I click on ‘browse’ or ‘browse all’, something seems to be going on, but it takes forever, and the browser stalls. (BTW, excuse me for my English; I’m not a native speaker.)
I find it also weird that I couldn’t access the ‘code’-tab, as long as the pictures were visible in my post.

Hi, I am having a similar (I think) problem:
I upload an image, after a moment the uplaod area disappears and an error message flashes by too quickly to see, and the uplaod area is restored. There is no “browse” or “browse all” tab available.

If I check by FTP I see the files have been correctly uploaded (to the default folder) but its a pain having to work out the path manually to them.

I tried disabling adblocker and AV – no change. I’m using Firefox 2.0.0.4 on WinXP.
I ahve set permissions on the uplaod folder as “777”
