Can't upload pictures anymore since new change to wordpress

  Ever since you changed/updates the MEDIA UPLOAD section I am having huge problems trying to upload my photos into my blog. I blog almost every day and have never had problems before. EIther it doesn’t let me insert it or I get this message:
  Maximum upload file size: 1GB. Your browser has some limitations uploading large files with the multi-file uploader. Please use the browser uploader for files over 100MB.

  After a file has been uploaded, you can add titles and descriptions.

  The only way I can occassionally upload pictures is through the backdoor, using add to under Media library. I am completely unable to insert a photo into a post directly. Is there a problem with the new format?
  Please advise as I am working on a new post and am frustrated!
