Can't upload plugins( Easy digital downloads)

  It seems like the updated word press version does not allow customized plugins such as easy digital downloads,I can only use the plugins that Word Press provides. Can someone please help? I am confused and lost.
  Do I need to use other blogs to sell photos instead?

  You are correct, it is not possible to add any plugins, including Easy Digital Downloads to WordPress.com sites.

  If you want to specifically use Easy Digital Downloads, you’ll need to switch to a self-hosted WordPress site.
