can’t upload video

  For some reason, when I click on the video upload button, it doesn’t allow any video files– they don’t show up! Only audio and only document files. Any ideas?? I have tried using different browsers, turning off pop up blocker etc.

  Do you have the videopress upgrade? You cannot upload videos to your media library if you do not have that upgrade: http://support.wordpress.com/videopress/ .

  WordPress does support a good number of video sharing services through their “shortcodes.” See this support page, http://support.wordpress.com/videos/google-video/ , and then for additional supported video sharing services, look in the blue section at the right on that page.

  Oh ok thanks for the clarification– I thought that the videopress upgrade was optional for compressing and space saving!

  You’re welcome. You can upload your videos to somewhere like vimeo, or vodpod, or dailymotion though and then display them in your blog via the shortcodes, which doesn’t cost you any money and works quite well.
