Can't use CSS in Newsy theme?
-
Hi, sorry, I know I’m being thick, but a while ago I was told how to stop categories showing on posts on the homepage. I was given some code which worked perfectly. Here’s the previous thread:
However, when I try to add the CSS code now it says the function is not activated and I have to purchase the premium package? I thought I’d already paid for the theme – and I’m not sure why I could add the CSS before but I can’t now? Is it some sort of annual recurring payment I have to make? Thanks very much :)

Hi there,
The ability to add CSS is a Custom Design option, and only available as part of the WordPress.com Premium or Business plan.
I can see that you previously purchased WordPress.com Premium in 2014 but that the plan expired last December, which explains how you were previously able to add CSS.
You can double check this purchase in the Billing History section of WordPress.com here:
https://wordpress.com/me/billing
If you’d like to add CSS again then you can find further information on our paid plans and upgrade via My Site > Plan:
https://wordpress.com/plans/bennisonbooks.com
Let me know if that information is helpful or if you have any further questions.

Lovely, thanks, that explains it. :) Could I ask a quick supplemental? If I buy another theme to try, will I still have Newsy to go back to if I want to? Thanks so much.

Hello!
If I buy another theme to try, will I still have Newsy to go back to if I want to?
Yep! Definitely. When you purchase a theme it’s yours forever and you can still switch themes then change back to the purchased one at any time.

I just wanted to clarify that Newsy is a retired premium theme, and when you switch from a retired premium theme, it’s not possible to reactivate it.
