Can't use my former URL?

  • Unknown's avatar

I deleted my blog, but now that I want to remake it I can’t use the original URL, because it says the URL is already taken – even though no one has taken it since I deleted it. Help?

    benedote.wordpress.com is no longer available.

The authors have deleted this site.

Sorry but gone is gone forever, you agreed to those terms several times during the delete process – domain names are not recycled at WordPress.com

That’s ridiculous. If you delete the initial page, you might as well start over. sitename.wordpress.com will no longer work. It’s a simple bug. Fix the damned thing.

It’s not a bug; it’s a very deliberate choice by WordPress.com. That’s why there are three warnings PLUS an email confirmation. If you blow past all of that and want it back, you’re out of luck. You can always register a throwaway URL and then get a custom domain and mapping to get WhatYouWant.com for $18 a year.

@sectiverdian – your blog has a not found message because you have not made a Post in it – why not write something for your blog?
