Can’t verify ICANN email with defunct email address

    hi,

    I am stuck trying to verify the ICANN email. The email address linked to our account is no longer in use so I can’t get them email, and I changed the contact email for the domain but it wants to send an email to the defunct address to verify!!! Can someone please help

    Hi there!

    I noticed that the email address on your domain is the same as that on your WordPress.com account. If you don’t have access to that email, you won’t receive communication from WordPress.com either. So, the first step is to update your WordPress.com account email address by following this guide:

    The email address registered with your WordPress.com account is your unique identifier to verify ownership of your account and website. This guide will help you update your account’s email address. Change My Email Address To update the email address on your account, follow these steps: Click on your profile at https://wordpress.com/me. On the left side, click on Account Settings.

    After your WordPress.com account email is updated, you can try updating the domain contact information again. If the new email you’re using on the domain is the same as the one that’ll be on your WordPress.com account, then you won’t need to verify from the old (defunct) email.
