Can't verify my account – mistyped address upon registering but can't change it
-
I made a typo in the e-mail addr when registering, so confirmation mail didn’t reach me. But can’t change it now – when I enter profile the ‘Save Account Settings’ button remains greyed out (it stays blue, but is like whitewashed and can’t be clicked) after I enter the new e-mail. Also, the username field is greyed out – doesn’t contain my username or anything else, which is probably why the “Save Account Settings” button doesn’t work.

That sounds like a browser related issue.

@podwawelski — Can you work through the steps that timethief posted, and let me know if you’re still having trouble?
-
Thank you very much for answering!
OK, turns out enabling 3rd party cookies was what it took to make the form work correctly. However I hit another hurdle – earlier in my attempts to get around this form I used the user account editing function in my WordPress blog admin panel to change the e-mail. Now in the form I see the old address in the e-mail field, but below it is a message in blue “There is a pending change of your email to [my e-mail here]. Please check your inbox for a confirmation link.”. However, there is nothing in the inbox. If I edit the e-mail address in the field and click save it saves it (I get the “Settings saved successfully!” message in green), but nothing changes – that is after the page reloads there is still the old, mistyped address inside the field, the blue message below it and no e-mail in the inbox. So it seems I am still in a loop, but a different one this time.

I forgot to add that those attempts to change it through wp-admin editing my account didn’t work, but that e-mail got recorded somewhere – it is that e-mail I entered there that is displayed in the blue message about a pending change.

Chris, thanks for looking into it. Unfortunately, I still didn’t get the confirmation link/e-mail to my account @yandex.com. Is yandex.com an accepted/acceptable e-mail service?
-
OK, got it to work by using a different e-mail provider – apparently e-mails from wordpress.com don’t get to my yandex.com mailbox. Thanks all for your support. Now I can start writing.
