Cant verify wordpress to google webtools

  I have tried to verify my wordpress adress to google webtools using the html method but it doesnt seem to work. Google says that the code is not the same, which leads me to think that it might be theme-caused? Im using AutoFocus theme. Any ideas?

  There is only one process that we can use to verify ownership of a free hosted WordPress.com blog with the major search engines. Is this the one you have been using? http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
