Can’t view published posts
-
I have just started setting up my blog/site and am having problems with posts – I can post them, they are down as published on my dashboard, but when I view my site it is the “About” page that shows up and clicking on the “blog” tab produces nothing. Very confused!
All I have on there at the moment is one page and 2 posts

I am using Firefox on a Mac
Thanks

You’re right. Clicking on the blog tag just reloads the About page. I’d send a Feedback to staff; looks like you need a fix by WordPress.com itself.
Also, you may want to put the “Recent Posts” widget in your sidebar. That way people can click directly to the posts themselves.

You mean blog posts that exist aren’t automatically available on the Blog tag at the top of each page? That’s the first I heard of that.

No, but you don’t have to assign a Page for your Posts. I think that’s what has occured here.

Well, she sounds like she knows the difference. The widget should be a decent workaround in the meantime; if the posts don’t show up, she can put the Pages widget in and if they show up then, she knows they need to be Posts, not Pages and can edit them accordingly.

I just duped it on my test blog:

Solution:
– Create an addition Page at Dashboard -> Write -> Page. Make it blank and give it a name like Posts.
– Go back to Dashboard -> Options -> Reading and assign this new Page to the Posts page selection there under the Static page option.
Hope this helps,

Thanks – I had assigned a static front page by accident – fixed now! (and another lesson learnt!)
