Capoverso links turned grey

  • Unknown's avatar

As I was reviewing a new blog post, I discovered that all the links on my site — links to blog posts, links to external sites, etc. — had turned grey. They have been black (i.e., the same color as the body text) ever since I started using Capoverso. Now that they are grey, they are unreadable, given my background image, and my site looks way worse. Is this a permanent change? Is there any way to undo it?

To make my site readable, I’ve changed the background image to a solid color, but what I would like is to be able to use the image on my landing page on every other page.

Thanks for any help you might provide?

    Hi there,

When did the change happened? And which colour did they used to be?

Have you added any custom CSS?

For what I can see the links are grey (#777) on regular view, and when visited, and black (#000), when hovered, active or on focus – which is the default style for the Capoverso theme.

You can edit the style by adding custom CSS if you have a Premium or Business Plan.

Let me know if you need more help on this.

Thanks for responding! The change happened sometime in the last month or so. I haven’t actually look at anything other than my site stats for at least a month, so I’m not sure.

The text is exactly as you describe. But it’s a problem for me due to my background picture — the change made the links unreadable. I find it odd that WordPress would change a style after people started using it, but I guess that’s there prerogative.

Anyway, thank you for confirming it wasn’t just my browser or a random blip. I only use the free version, so I can’t change it. I’ll just need to find a new them. Which is a bummer b/c I like Capoverso.

    Thanks again!

  • Hi there – we did make a recent change to Capoverso so that links within post and page content would be distinguishable from regular text, since we’d had a number of complaints that there was no way to identify the links as being clickable. For comparison, this is what it looked like before, with the theme’s default background: https://cldup.com/TX0EnAjiSl.png

It was tricky to choose a colour to use that would work for every single Capoverso user, and we opted not to underline them instead, since that was a more dramatic visual change.

Glad you found another background that works with the new link colour and sorry we couldn’t find a colour that would work perfectly for everyone.
