I want to stop bots from viewing my blog pages for privacy and personal, ideological, reasons. I don’t care about comments. The existing discussion on this topic that I’ve seen is about stopping spam comments. At present, the only way to stop bots viewing your blog is to make it a private blog which is an obstacle to having it viewed at all since people have to have wordpress accounts. A captcha would be far simpler and not require logins. Alternatively we could make our own captcha by setting the visiblity of a page to password protected, but give the users a hint. E.g. the hint might be “what is 48 plus fifty 2, answer in words” and then password would be “one hundred”.

Thanks for your reply, but that is a wordpress.org link and I am using the free wordpress.com. I don’t have the required level of control.
