  • Hello there,

To use a Captcha, a site on WordPress.com would need to be on the business plan.

Outside of that, forms on WordPress.com are spam protected using Akismet, so there wouldn’t be a need necessarily for this.

Out of curiosity, is there something in particular you’ve read whereby you’re seeing the need for this?

No I havent read anything. Aksimet is a plugin, yes?- which requires business plan?

  • To clarify, we already have spam filtering on your contact form that is handled by Akismet. While that plugin is an option for WordPress sites with other hosting providers, it’s built in on WordPress.com.

If you need a CAPTCHA option specifically, that will require a plugin since we do not have that built into the default WordPress.com platform. To do that you will need the Business Plan (or higher) but as it stands now, we are actively blocking spam on your contact form. If you have any responses that are getting through, you can mark them as “spam”, which will help train our filters so we get better about blocking future attempts.
