caption and italic font

  Is there a way to have a portion of a caption be italicized (or underlined)? I use a lot of titles in my captions, and would like to use italic for the title portion of the caption. Thank you for any help you can offer (even if italics isn’t an option!).

  The style of captioned images is predetermined and outside your control. If you want to be able to format the caption text, you must use plain, no-caption images, and simulate their appearance with html code. I’ve worked a solution here:

  But I don’t think it’s worth the trouble.
