Caption cut off

  I see many questions about captions in the forums, but I did not see an answer to a problem I had today. The caption on my image is not complete. I have put captions on 41 other photos and many a lot longer than this one and never had a problem before. Any suggestions? Thank you

  It’s because of the apostrophe you had typed. Others have complained about this, too. I don’t know why it happens – perhaps it has to do with your browser or with PCs (doesn’t happen on my Mac). You can easily correct it by going to the HTML post editor and completing the “Full Moon A” bit in the image code.

  Thank you, however, I went into the HTML, changed it and saved it, and it is still not showing right. Is there any way to get to the HTML where I type the caption in.

  You mean to the uploader settings? Yes: you go to the VISUAL post editor, click on the image, click the mountain icon that appears. But it won’t make any difference.

  I can’t help any more since, as I said, I don’t have this problem so I can’t experiment for possible solutions. Perhaps you should report it to Support.

  Thnak you for your help. I removed that apostrophe right away and rewrote it. It is a very strange thing to happen – I will never use an apostrophe in a caption again!

  Well, I went back one time to try editing it. I deleted the image from the post, re-inserted it, (which I have done several times) and this time it worked! I was shocked to see it working. Thank you for your help. I was going to contact support, but now I do not have to.

  Yes, it’s the punctuation. I’ve more or less stopped using punctuation in captions for this reason (also cut off in alt text). Some marks do it and some don’t: commas seem to be okay, but semicolons will cut things off, as will periods or any other concluding punctuation.
