Caption in pictures

  Hi,

  Can somebody help me with caption in my pictures? When I upload a picture, the caption goes to the side of the picture and vertically and not under the picture. Any ideas why?

  Hi there Karin,

  I see this happening on your post here:

  I’m seeing the ‘alignleft’ class being applied to the img tag in the HTML tab of that post. Here’s an example:

  [caption id="attachment_53" align="alignnone" width="822"]<img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-53" src="https://socialresilienceblog.files.wordpress.com/2017/03/20150727220756-bacon.jpeg" alt="20150727220756-bacon" width="822" height="462" /> Bacon for everybody[/caption]

  This is causing the image to move just enough to the left to allow text to flow on the right side of it.

  I’ve been able to replicate this by doing the following:

  1. Insert an image
  2. Click the image
  3. Click the left-align button in the toolbar
  4. Add a caption

  Instead, of doing that, try aligning the image after the caption has been added.

  Here’s a screenshot to show the difference in how the editor handles these scenarios.

  I’ve been unable to replicate this issue in tests with the Motif theme applied. Whether I add captions before or after aligning an image in a post, the captions have appeared centered below the image, and remain so regardless of how I change the alignment of the image, or of a series of intermingled images, in the post.

  @ijoyweb: Hmm, that’s strange. I see that the post I linked to before is now deleted. Can you provide a link to the page/post where you’re having trouble with this currently?
