Caption Looks Like Normal Text
-
I haven’t been blogging for a while now and the new editor seems not styling the captions like they used to in my theme. Captions now look like normal body text on my end.
Anything that can be done for this? I am using free btw. TIA.

Hello Tia,
Happy to help you with this.
Can you show you me an example of caption created with the classic editor one created with the block editor please?
This sounds familiar to another issue we’ve faced recently.

Can you link us to the post where that first photo is in use? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.
Thanks!

This below now is the new post using the caption of the new editor:
The text below the very first image is actually added as caption. So as on other images on the post.

Ah, I see what you mean.
Yes, this is intentional, as how captions operate now are quite different.
Older themes do not yet have styling for the new captions system, but newer themes do. Meanwhile, we are working on getting styling into the older themes for the new caption system.

Gotcha. I was wondering changing the theme would help. But does that mean the new captions would get the styling but the old posts will now be the one messed up?
-
Themes control how the site looks, so how the captions are styled is up to the theme.
Newer themes will have specific styling for the new captions, and older captions shouldn’t be affected.

Thank you guys for your clarification. I will mark this now as resolved for the meantime.
